The Careers in Welding Mobile Exhibit proudly staffs each event throughout its tour across the country with volunteers. All are welcome to participate as a volunteer and be ambassadors of AWS. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer on the trailer check out these important details.

Volunteer's Role and Duties:

Whether your a seasoned welder, a student, or just interested in volunteering- you'll be a perfect fit on the mobile exhibit! Below are few examples of a volunteer's functions on the trailer:

  • Oversee and train visitors on the operation of the VRTEX Welding Machine

  • Interact with visitors by sharing your story and welding knowledge

  • Guide visitors through trailer exhibits and displays

  • Handout AWS informational items 

Benefits of Volunteering:

All volunteers who participate; will receive parking reimbursement, a $10 meal voucher, and an AWS Careers in Welding t-shirt. All volunteers are also entered into a drawing- with the chance to win a welding helmet!

We encourage all schools, local businesses, & community members to get involved by volunteering on the trailer at local events. Educational Institution Benefits:

Earn a Free Lincoln Electric welding power source for your school when combined volunteer hours reach the 50 & 100 hour mark.  

  • A total of at least 50  combined volunteer hours earn a small power source for an educational institution. 

  • A total of at least 100 combined volunteer hours earn a large power source for an educational institution. 

Combined volunteer hours are totaled from each volunteer that is allocating their time on behalf of an educational institution.  Business volunteers may elect to have their volunteer hours go towards a local welding program of their choosing.

General Event Requirements:

For the Careers in Welding Mobile Exhibit to consider attending an event, these few requirements must typically bet met:

  • Family friendly environment and appropriate audience.

  • Event daily attendance of 3000+ people.

  • Venue infastructure must be suitible for Trailer & Semi.

  • Some additional considerations may apply.
